Construction Project Accountant

OGM is seeking a Construction Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of construction projects. This role is critical for ensuring projects stay profitable, budgets are adhered to, processes are followed, and accurate financial reporting is delivered to the Leadership team. We are looking for someone who is ready to work in a team environment in a growing company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions

  • Process AP, AR and other general accounting duties

  • Create pay applications for various projects

  • Assist with, billing and collections

  • Prepare and compile monthly financial statements

  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card deposits

  • File sales tax returns in multiple states

  • Assist with business and construction licenses and applications

  • Effectively manage schedules to meet deadlines

  • Support onsite office staff and Construction Project Coordinators

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 2-5+ years of accounting work experience

  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited university

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, strong Excel skills, knowledge of general ledger, and payroll. 

  • Soft Skills: Excellent time management, Organized self-starter, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail; excellent communication for working with non-finance teams; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction-specific practices like percentage-of-completion, job cost tracking, WIP, Licensing, lien waivers, and pay applications is a plus

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $70,000-$80,000+ Depending on Experience
