The GM/Head Pro directs all aspects of the facility including its activities, representing the Facility / Oliphant Golf Management and the relationships between the facility and its Board, members, employees, community, government, and industry. Sets and monitors the budget, monitors the quality of products and services to ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects of the club within a fiscally responsible manner. This position will promote an exceptional golf experience. Coordinates and administers facility policies and provides supervision and support to all department heads. Key areas of focus: Financial and budgeting- fiscally responsible, quality control-manage by walking around, customer service- the experience, and being the ambassador to employees, customers, the facility and ultimately the community.
Skills, expertise and traits:
Excellent communicator and manager of people
The ability to utilize modern technologies (computer: Microsoft Office, POS systems, QuickBooks, Facebook and programs in managing workplace procedures
Be naturally organized in goal setting, project planning, prioritizing, as well as managing stakeholder relations, budgets and timeframes
Comprehension of golf, membership and banquet related sales: Weddings, Fundraisers, Club memberships, corporate events, Rounds of golf, Group outings, Stay and play packages and golf merchandise
Will project the company brand of professionalism, fun, relationship building and positive results, in their appearance and demeanor, both externally (with clients and in public), and internally to fellow staff
Responsibilities:
Maintain association membership status (PGA / CMAA)
Monitors the performance of all daily operations, functions and services; assures high standards and total customer satisfaction.
Oversee the reservation system, starting, monitoring, and pace of play
Monitors and drives golf shop revenue for merchandise, rounds of golf, cart revenue and corporate functions.
Track and verify all players and guests, green fees, golf cars, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting and recordkeeping
Develops and maintains a sound organizational structure.
Oversees employee hiring, firing and development
Initiates ideas of programing, sales, events, business opportunities
Delegates daily responsibilities to qualified employees. Monitors their performance and timelines, aids in training and support as needed.
Gives recommendations to Oliphant Golf Management and Board of Directors for operating and capital budgets, policies, and maintains throughout the year.
Monitors financial statements, reviews income and expenses, and reports status monthly.
Meets, greats, and welcomes prospective customers/ members.
Ensures the highest standards for golf service and programs, food and beverage, and entertainment.
Oversees and works with department heads for staffing and scheduling.
Attends all Board Meetings and serves on committees.
Enforce all rules, regulations, and bylaws governing the facility.
Communicates over all vision of facility to fellow employees and customers
Manage facility operating cash
Maintains task list and progress reports of facility
Report weekly to the Regional Manager on the progress of each project (in relation to the project plan)
Turn up for all meetings on-time or where you will be late, notify the client or meeting chair immediately
Completes bi-weekly payroll by noon on Monday
Remuneration and working hours:
50 hours per week, 10 vacation days (pro rata)
Cell phone reimbursement up to $60 per month or use of company phone
Working at The Club at Aberdeen, out of office work and community involvement expected
Compensation and further employment benefits set within Offer Letter
Anticipated compensation of $60,000 - $75,000 with up to 5% Bonus
